Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) alternatives
Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) is a cloud-native and serverless data store that provides simple saleable elastic shared file storage for Linux-based business applications. Some highlighting features of Amazon Elastic File System are POSIX-complaint shared file storage, saleable performance allowing support over 10 GB/sec and more than 500,000 IOPS, Dynamic elasticity instantly scales your storage up and down as you add or remove files. A major benefit is cost-effectiveness; you pay the fees for the storage you are only using. The security infrastructure in Amazon EFS encrypts your data either at rest or in transit.
Even if it stores Petabytes of data, it still provides consistent low legacies with high levels of throughput. You can simply use AWS (Amazon Web Service) management console API or CLI to create a file system and make it available to one or more Amazon VPCs and securely mount your file system to store and access your data. The data can also be mounted on-premises servers to EFS using AWS direct connect or use VPN to easily migrate the data to EFS.
The EFS has many use cases like Analytics, machine learning, web serving, content management, application testing & development, media & entertainment, and database backups.
