Dark Cloud 3 is an Action-Adventure, Role-playing, City-Building, and Single-player video game developed by Level-5 and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is the third major installment of the Dark Cloud series that tells the story of a group of adventurers who band together to battle against evil named Dark Genuine, who has an attack on the town and destroyed multiple villagers.
The game puts the player into the role of a protagonist named Toan, a young boy who is given a magical stone known as the Atlamillia by Simba the Fairy King, which has the ability to recreate the destroyed land. It offers a third-person view and allows the player to move through the procedurally generated dungeon, defeat monsters, and collect items.
In random dungeon levels, the player has the option to enter a separate back door area, which contains more powerful monsters and rarer treasure. After collecting enough amount of items, the game allows the player to rebuild his land and fulfill the villager’s wishes. Each complete mission will provide a massive reward which the player can use to unlock new items and upgrade his character abilities.
