It serves as the sequel to the 2015 Call of Duty: Black Ops III, considering as the fifth installment in the Black Ops subseries. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is the first title in the series released without the traditional Single-player Campaign.
It features Multiplayer mode, enabling players to compete against each other in a variety of scenarios. Unlike other titles, the game comes with a new Battle Royale mode, in which a specific number of players must fight against each other to be the last standing person to win. Three different game types are available as Multiplayer, Zombie, and Battle Royale (Blackout).
The game retains the specialists from the previous titles and introduces unique soldiers with special abilities and powerful weapons. There are various playable characters, and each has strengths and weaknesses. In Battle Royale mode, the players play against each other, while gathering weapons and resources during exploration to defeat other opponents win the game.
