Enterprise Objects Framework alternatives
Enterprise Objects Framework (EOF) is an object-relational mapping (ORM) tool for OpenStep and NeXTSTEP that helps developers retrieve, modify, and commit changes in a relational database. It was popular in the mid-90s, especially among financial institutions who were impressed by the number of advantages it offered.
Presently, it is an integral part of WebObjects, a Java Web Application Server developed by the same company that made EOF. After the discontinuity of EOF, its principles and techniques ended up being adopted by Core Data. Enterprise Objects Framework supports many functionalities within SQL, such as bulk faulting of relationships and nested & shared editing of contexts.
