Flowsquare alternatives
Flowsquare is a two-dimensional CFD software that you can use to simulate unsteady, non-reactive, or even reactive flow systems. It provides accurate solutions of the 2nd order Reynolds equation with both turbulent and laminar boundary layers. Coupling of the Navier-Stokes equations for incompressible flow with an Eulerian description of compressible flow is also possible with this tool.
The calculation domain can be either rectangular or cylindrical geometry, including axisymmetric cases. The solution method consists in approximating the pressure gradient term by finite difference schemes based on central differences or upwind differencing methods. An upwind scheme is used to compute the convective term.
Turbulence modeling can be represented by several turbulence closures, including the modified beta formulation with Reynolds stress transport, Launder-Sharma model, or the standard Reynolds stress model. Flowsquare can use pre-and post-processing software to perform data visualization for 2D/3D data sets. You can use this software as an individual, in educational institutes, or in companies for a variety of purposes. All in all, Flowsquare is a great tool that you can consider among its alternatives.
