Guitarix alternatives
Guitarix is a virtual guitar amplifier that is intended for Linux and is capable of running on Jack Audio Connection Kit. It comes with a rich set of effects, including three different types of distortion, flanger, chorus, phaser, delay, reverb, and tremolo. The main feature of the project is being able to emulate 30 amplifiers and speaker cabinets from well-known manufacturers. Guitarix is written in C++ and runs on SSE2-capable processors for real-time audio processing. It also has a GTK+ control GUI with MIDI input support, a user-friendly mixer, LADSPA, and DSSI plugins support.
In addition, several effects are available as DSP plugins, like distortion/overdrive, convolution-based reverbs, phaser and delay. Several built-in presets are also present, and the plugins can be controlled via a Jack MIDI controller. It comes with a hot-looking interface, providing a wide range of options like noise gate, compressor, clip, pre-gain, bass boost, reverb, convolver, modulation, and much more.
