Libreboot alternatives
Libreboot is a free-to-use software designed for the replacement of the proprietary BIOS firmware found in most operating systems. It is an open-source and lightweight software that performs a minimum number of tasks that are necessary to run and load a modern operating system that includes both 32-bit and 64-bit. Libreboot allows you to integrate all of the required software components into one package, and the system aims to make free boot firmware that is accessible to all.
In many software, the Boot firmware is not free even they are using GNU+Linux, and many various non-free BIOS firmware can be slow and have severe bugs. Still, in contrast to Libreboot, the whole system is entirely free, and anyone can play its part in inspecting the code. Thus, Libreboot is agile, more reliable, and secure than any paid firmware and encrypted boot, GPG signature, etc. are its main highlighting features.
