MacDown alternatives
MacDown is an open-source markdown editor for macOS that aims to be fast and stable. It is built using the Electron framework, but it supports multiple extensions to customize its appearance and functionality. MacDown is very easy to use, even if you’ve never written a line of code before. It’s available as a standalone app for both Windows and macOS or as an extension for the Chrome web browser.
MacDown is the only markdown editor that supports live spell checking, live word counting, live auto-correct, and auto-capitalization. These options are available in the Settings menu. MacDown has a modular architecture, providing modules and plugins that can be used independently for other projects. The rich features are highly customizable rendering, syntax highlighting, sophisticated auto-completion, live preview, best-in-class editor, default path, tax list syntax, and more to add.
