Pi-hole alternatives
Pi-hole is a Linux network-level advertisement and internet tracker blocking application that is intended to use as a private network. The software acts as a DNS sinkhole and DHCP server, which helps you get rid of data tracking websites and cookies. You can pair Pi-hole with your personal VPN and have ad-blocking on cellular or WiFi network directly from the tunnel. You can use it to limit certain devices to get the right bandwidth.
It lets you fine-tune your internet experience with blacklists and whitelists in which you can add devices or websites to restrict tracking and sending unwanted notifications. A built-in query log gives you access to all domains which are being queried in your network.
The dashboard contains statistics about queries that are stored in a database. This helps you learn about what’s happening in your network. You can keep track of most queried domains and add them from the central list to white or blacklist. Different privacy modes are also available along with the web interface for quick settings to change DNS and IP addresses.
