Rescatux alternatives
Rescatux is a utility for rescuing broken Linux and Windows installations. This is based on Debian and comes with a graphical user interface with easy-to-use options. It can fix boot options, convert the BIOS mode to UEFI, show partition status, make a fake UEFI Windows, restore MBR or GPT partition, promote user to the admin role, reset Windows password, etc.
A highlighting feature of Rescatux is that instead of offering a set of tools that you have to manually find and repair OS, it directly boots into the repair menu and will give you only the necessary set of repairing tools. Every tool I categorized or a specific set of problems.
Advanced tools like Testdis, Gparaed, and Photorec are also available. The Photorec is a command-line tool that allows you to search for accidentally deleted files in a partition. You can choose the partition where the files were located, choose the filesystem type and follow the instructions to initiate the detection of the deleted files. All in all, Rescatux is a great tool that you can consider among its alternatives.
