Scribe alternatives
Scribe is a discontinued server app designed for collecting log data passing n real-time from a long list of servers. It is scalable, extensible, doesn’t make any modifications to the client’s side, and is capable of preventing the failure of the network. Facebook released the solution in 2008 under the terms of the Apache License 2.0.
Each server is ordered in a directed graph, and every server only has information about the server next to it. The benefit of using this network topology is that additional layers can be implemented when required. The aim of the solution was to take reliability into consideration without the need for expansive disk usage and heavyweight protocols.
