Wasp-os alternatives
Wasp-os is an open-source MicroPython based OS made for smartwatches that are based on the nRF52 family of microcontrollers. You can also use it for watches that can be hacked easily, such as PineTime. It determines the design of a particular watch face by parameters such as the size of the screen, the height, the length and width of the screen bezel, and text display parameters, including what text appears on which side of the screen and if digits are displayed on top or bottom.
Wasp-os is very easy to install and doesn’t require any special knowledge about embedded systems. You only need to download the firmware image from Github, copy it to your SD card, and reboot the PineTime. That’s all you need to do! Wasp-os does not overwrite any part of the original firmware of the PineTime and is designed to be run in parallel with it. The Wasp-os has features including a corresponding App for both Android and iOS, GPS, NFC & SIM card emulation, Interaction with an nRF52840 based development board using BLE, and much more.
