Update Manager alternatives
Update Manager is an open-source and easy-to-use tool that allows you to check for new versions of packages and install the latest security updates on your Linux mint. The best feature is that it doesn’t require you to possess technical knowledge and can be used by all levels of users. To begin, launch the application, initiate a scan, after which it will search for updates and show them to you. Uncheck any boxes next to applications that you don’t like to upgrade, and the solution will skip them.
You can also remove packages from the manager by selecting them and clicking on the “clear” button. Once the selection is final, click on install updates, and it will take care of the rest. The interface provides multiple details of all the files such as Level, Upgrade, Package, New Version, Old Version, and Size. At the bottom of the screen, you can navigate between several tabs like Description, Changelog, Extra info, and Warnings.
