FerretDB alternatives
FerretDB is an open-source proxy, which is an alternative to MongoDB. It allows you to convert the MongoDB wire protocol queries to SQL. The query execution speed is comparable to the speed of running directly against MongoDB and is much faster than other mongo-to-SQL solutions. It works especially well for large datasets and high-cardinality indexes like geospatial search. The real magic of FerretDB is that it only needs very little in the way of configuration, and it is automatically shared and replicated across multiple hosts for you.
It can run locally on your laptop or be scaled out to a cluster of machines using traditional database techniques. It is designed to be embedded into existing relational databases to enable them to serve as a back end for MongoDB applications. FerretDB transparently supports many of the advanced features of the MongoDB wire protocol, including aggregation queries, joins, map/reduce jobs, and regular expressions.
