UnQLite alternatives
UnQLite is a fast, lightweight, document-oriented NoSQL database engine that is based on a high-performance auto-extensible transactional key-value data store with a built-in query language. The key features are stability, robustness, and simplicity. It is open source (BSD license) and is free for both commercial and non-commercial use. Unlike most other NoSQL databases, UnQLite does not use separate processes and threads to handle different requests. Instead, it uses a single thread and an event-driven approach. This makes the tool very lightweight and simple to implement in different applications.
UnQLite takes full advantage of the local (on disk) blocking storage to amortize the overhead of operating system calls and maximize the efficiency of memory, processor cache, and disk cache usage. It doesn’t require any configuration files or system parameters. Other features include ACID transactions, foreign keys, SQL-like queries, full-text search, and disk-based tables. There’s no dependency, and there’s no fancy setup. Moreover, a simple API allows to hash passwords and store them in the database transparently with no extra code.
