SmarTTY alternatives
SmarTTY is a fully-featured, multi-tabbed SSH client that supports SCP. It also allows for the copying of directories and files with SCP in real-time and modifying files in place. A newly released version adds many desirable functionalities, namely a Smart terminal with package management GUI, auto-completion, and file panel. Its single SSH session can sustain multiple tabs without hassle.
Almost all SSH servers can run ten sub-sessions on each connection, but SmarTTY goes a step further and doesn’t show multiple windows, frees the individual from having to re-login by letting them start by opening up a new tab. The Smart Terminal Mode gives access to several functionalities like auto-completion for recent commands, files, folders, a simple file navigation panel for displaying files in a recently opened directory, and easy-to-use GUI for YUM and APT package managers. The best feature is being able to transfer individual files and entire directories.
You can browse the remote directory order with a GUI having Windows-style and upload or download single files with SCP protocol. It is possible to migrate large and complete directories with recursive SCP. The SSH client is also capable of instantly sending and receiving directories on the go with TAR. One of its other core highlights is the ability to edit files in place. This is achieved by using the Native Windows file editing feel and look. An option to call ‘sudo’ is provided to save protected files and Automatic CRLF to LF conversion. Other beneficial features include zero need for configuring anything manually, Out-of-the-box running of Remote X11 apps, and Saving Communication logs to files.
