pug (Jade) alternatives
pug (Jade) is a template engine that’s designed to be used with Node.js. It’s a “compiles-to-JavaScript” templating engine, which means your templates are written in JavaScript, but Pug compiles them to valid JavaScript code that runs in the browser. Its most commonly used to create single-page apps and websites. It is designed to run on both the server and the client. It is strictly controlled by JavaScript by having all logic written. The engine compiles into HTML but doesn’t use any markup.
The goal of Pug is to allow designers and front-end developers to write HTML code without learning JavaScript. Pug’s syntax allows for extending its functionality through the use of filters and helpers. Filters are responsible for manipulating the Pug code before it is compiled into HTML and helpers are used when a bit of logic needs to be applied to a data structure before the content is rendered.
