Scan Tailor alternatives
Scan Tailor is an interactive post-processing tool for scanned pages that provides the efficacy of splitting, deskewing, adding, removing borders, and binarizing. The provided input is raw scans and will provide pages ready to be printed or developed into a pdf or DJVU file as an output. The platform considers scanning, optical character recognition, and assembling multi-page documents as out of the scope of this program, and it would be neat to speed that up with GPU and multi CPU processing.
It is an advanced version that works seamlessly, and supports command line mode, and can accept pre-cropped (with other tools) input images, apply deskew and binarization (no further cropping, no dewarp), and then output like tif. Its key feature includes experimental components to margins and then match size by scaling helps a lot to manage the relevant content. Scan Tailor accepts various image types as input, including JPG, PNG, TIFF, and if source images are JP2, they need to be converted for readable formats before trying to load them like common TIA image type.
